Please tell me how 90% of rm2k/3 games having the exact same DBS is better than some VX games using the DBS, some using the popular sideview one, some using a real time battle script, some using the heavily edited DBS, and some using a slightly edited DBS. I don't mean to be overly rude, but this is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. If you're going to use the same CBS as everyone else you might as well pick the DBS with the relevant capabilities. Besides, "custom" scripts are there to be unique: using the same script as everyone else defeats the novelty scripts are supposed to introduce. then you should not be using scripts to develop games.

If you do not know how to edit the script you are using/do not understand how it works/do not understand what it might affect in terms of the other scripts used etc.

#BEST RPG MAKER CODE#

Isn't RPG Maker a tool to help people who can't/won't build their own RPG engines make RPG games? (Because they don't have time or don't know how to program and understand the code necessary to build an engine.) It would be unwise to try to plug 10 scripts together, but picking a new default battle system and an advanced message system are both things I think everyone should at least investigate, they're basically just "plugins" for more options or to change existing features.Īuthor=Fallen-Griever link=topic=3954.msg79297#msg79297 date=1244566999 This is the worst advice ever. This is especially true if you want to make a futuristic game - I still think EtG should use resized chips from RM2K/3 instead of those ridiculously chibi charactersets! I'm sorry, what? If these plug-and-play battle systems are shared around, then it's just basically another Default System in VX you can use, even if it didn't come packaged. If you aren't comfortable with the style of the RTP then get used to resizing resources from RM2K/3. Hell, you can mix-match the different cabinets to create, say, potions on the bottom and books on the top.Īuthor=Fallen-Griever link=topic=3954.msg79297#msg79297 date=1244566999 You don't actually have to know how to code in order to make use of the script feature (copy paste and follow instructions) This is the worst advice ever. By the way, those interior building/dungeon wall/ceiling combos also come with the following floor tiles: a basic floor tile, a ruined or alternate floor tile, a matching stair tile, and a "edge" tile that I have found many, many uses for. Also, the mapping is much easier than in 2k/3 and EONS AND EPOCHS beyond RMXP's stupid tilesets. It is the entire RM2k/3 RTP, times two or more, all available on any map. With the VX RTP, that is enough for sixteen unique-looking towns and twenty-four unique-looking dungeon/building types, and there are tons of quirky tile b-d (e is EMPTY for YOUR OWN USE) things that fit each dungeon/building type. You just double the size of the graphics and suddenly, hey, it works out just fine! There is room in VX for twenty-four (24) "inner" walls/ceiling combos and sixteen (16) buildings with traditional roofs (or you can use it for more walls).

YOU DO NOT NEED TO SCRIPT TO USE RMVX Also, Demon Tower uses the 2k3 RTP in RMVX.
